Sitemap re-submit facility is not available in new google webmaster tool. You have to delete sitemap and submit again.

You know sitemap is a backbone for website organic search. So every website contain sitemap.xml for search engine crawl.

You should use webmaster tool for submission of your website.

Go to Google Webmaster:  Visit Now

Go to Bing Webmaster: Visit Now

Go to Yandex Webmaster: Visit Now

Now, when you add content and seems that you should re-submit your particular sitemap page. Simply paste below mention link for ping sitemap manually.

http://google.com/ping?sitemap=complete_website_sitemap_link.xml*

Paste your website sitemap.xml.

Example: https://websitename.xml/post_sitemap.xml

So in this case. (Must use complete website url https:// or http://)

When you should re-submit sitemap manually?

Although google submit sitemap as per their priority and setting in google webmaster tool. Sometimes, we don’t update our content in particular category, in that case google don’t care about that category.
